Welcome to the Dopler winery, a pioneer of winemaking in the Thermen region. The art of winemaking has been cultivated and developed here by the family since 1907. The pioneering spirit of the Dopler family is already being lived out in the fourth generation, with innovation and vision driving Günther Dopler's work. The focus is on the Burgundy varieties in red and white and the commitment to consistently excellent quality of all wines.

The winery
Nestled in the plains of the thermal region, our winery is an ideal starting point for excursions and cozy visits to wine taverns. Special highlights include the Hofheurige, which has become a cult, the popular Großheurige and the lovingly designed Advent exhibition with many unusual accessories related to wine.
The vineyard
The quality of the wine is already created in the vineyard. Our vineyards in Tattendorf benefit from an average of 2000 hours of sunshine per year and are among the driest regions in Austria. The geologically attractive soils are particularly attractive for Burgundy varieties, and our red wine varieties have a world-class reputation. The locations in Tattendorf also offer ideal conditions for white wines.
All of our vineyards are worked by hand, from pruning to harvesting. Our responsibility is to preserve healthy soils for future generations. Observing nature and seeing it blossom and fade each year is a wonderful and fascinating experience.
Dopler family: The Burgundy pioneer
Günther Dopler is a pioneer in the thermal region. Innovation and vision drive his creative work. Flexibility and the balance between nature and modern technology are his strengths. As a founding member of the association "Die Burgundermacher" (The Burgundy Makers), he focuses on the Burgundy varieties in red and white as well as the consistent quality of all wines. Günther always dreamed of flying, and this vision is reflected in the wines "Etrich Taube" and "Lindbergh".
The family history spans four generations. Great-grandfather Johann Doppler acquired the current winery in Tattendorf, the former Schaflerhof, in 1907. Alfred Dopler took over the family business in 1970, concentrated on agriculture and winemaking and built up a strong customer base. Günther Dopler took over in 2001 and has been passionately devoted to winemaking ever since. Father Alfred is still an important advisor, and mother Herta, over 80 years old, still provides the family with culinary supplies.
Julian Dopler , the son, attends the technical college for agriculture and food technology in Pyhra and has already created his own Cabernet Sauvignon. Sonja Dopler , Günther's wife, is the creative spirit of the winery and takes care of communication and the office. Aunt Nadja Dopler lovingly looks after customers in sales and on the phone.
