Welcome to the Falk winery in Bockfließ! Here in the eastern Weinviertel, just 13 km from the Vienna city limits, where the hills of the Hochleithenwald begin, our grapes benefit not only from a unique microclimate, but also from the typical heat of the Pannonian sun.
Our winery offers a wide range of wines, including both traditional and rare grape varieties. The typical, fruity and peppery varieties include the Grüner Veltliner - Weinviertel DAC. In addition, we proudly present excellent wines from rarer grapes such as the elegant and full-bodied Sylvaner, the powerful and mineral Sauvignon Blanc and the fresh and spicy Riesling.
Great passion for wine, traditional hand-me-downs, modern innovation, love for the region and a lot of manual work are the ingredients for our popular and award-winning wines. Our vineyards
The soils of our vineyards are characterized by loess - ice age deposits that are characterized by their wonderful properties for viticulture. A high proportion of natural nutrients and high porosity with good storage capacity characterize this typical, yellow sediment.
This soil, which is heated by the hot sun of the Weinviertel summer, is the basis of our vines, which thrive in the protection of the Hochleithenwald forest. Intensive and targeted foliage and vineyard work contribute to the production of award-winning quality wines year after year.
Our house cellar
The end of summer, with its seductively colorful vineyards, heralds the grape harvest - the culmination of a whole year's work. Our carefully harvested and hand-picked grapes are immediately gently pressed and processed in our own cellar using a modern pneumatic wine press at low pressure.
The fermentation process also takes place here in the cellar in steel tanks and large wooden barrels. The maturing wines are given consistent temperatures and the peace and quiet they need to become what wine connoisseurs value.
Wine cellar and wine shop Obere Kellergasse
The traditional cellar lanes with their unique press houses are called "villages without chimneys" in the Weinviertel. Time seems to stand still here - down in the deep cellar tubes there is centuries-old peace, with no temperature fluctuations all year round. Our matured wines from decades past love this place and are happy to be awakened by wine lovers. We would be happy to escape everyday life with you and take you to our traditional cellar, where fine wines for special occasions await you.
